Clinton Hill

Offering a blend of architectural elegance, a laid-back atmosphere and artsy vibe, Clinton Hill is characterized by its wide streets draped in greenery, its many parks and a mix of historic brownstones, grand 19th-century mansions and modern buildings.
Clinton Hill borders Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Prospect Heights and Fort Greene, sharing a similar charm with its neighbors through a mix of historic character and dynamic growth. The neighborhood began as a fashionable retreat for New York City’s most prominent industrialists, as evidenced by the opulent homes lining Clinton Avenue (aptly dubbed “Mansion Row”), which is part of the Historic District.
Today, Clinton Hill is a vibrant neighborhood with a strong sense of community and a small-town feel where residents can step back in time to discover homes built in styles that exemplify different periods of the neighborhood’s development. Fulton Street, Dekalb Avenue and Myrtle Avenue serve as the neighborhood’s main commercial thoroughfares, lined with boutique cafes, shops and bars, as well as a burgeoning culinary scene.
The St. James Place Block Association puts on an annual block party and various events throughout the year that foster community spirit and connection.
Clinton Hill also houses St. Joseph’s University and Pratt Institute (along with its Sculpture Park), infusing the neighborhood with fresh, creative energy.
A variety of transit options including the G, A and C trains, and multiple bus lines keep Clinton Hill well-linked to the rest of the city.
