Carlynn Matern
- 18 years experience helping buyers, sellers, renters, and landlords
- Understands and supports the emotions of all real estate decisions and transactions
- Long-time Park Sloper and Brooklyn Enthusiast
For 18 years, Carlynn has been delighted to help countless people find, sell, and rent their homes. Embracing Park Slope as one of the world’s most vibrant urban neighborhoods, she never tires of noticing new architectural details, discovering a previously unexplored path in Prospect Park, or marveling at the world-class triumphal arch in Grand Army Plaza. After leaving a twenty-year career in Marketing and Promotion at various publishing companies like St. Martin’s Press, Pearson, Scholastic, Macmillan, and McGraw-Hill, Carlynn adventured to Zurich, Switzerland in 1997 with her husband Ted and daughter Claire. They rented out their Park Slope brownstone and settled for three years in the cobble-stoned village of Horgen on Lake Zurich, and traveled through London, Paris, Milan, Vienna, Lyon, and Nice. Upon her return, Carlynn applied the skills and negotiating savvy she honed from years of managing a creative staff in publishing to a successful career in real estate.

ShuvaevProspet Park CarouselFavorite Place for NostalgiaProspect Park's 585 acres have so much to offer—the playing fields, Nethermead, Boathouse, wooded paths and waterfalls. But a very special place, tucked in near the zoo, is the carousel. Moved from Coney Island in 1952 and restored during the 1980s, it was re-opened to the public in 1990. Lots of fun rides and happy memories. -
Brooklyn Heights PromenadeFavorite ViewpointBrooklyn Heights has remarkable architecture and views—not only brownstones, but also stunning frame townhouses, and, remarkably, several cobblestone streets. The main attraction, though, is the promenade. From there you see the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island Ferry, East River boats, helicopters taking off from Pier 6 in the Financial District, the Brooklyn Bridge and all of lower Manhattan. Always a treat! -
