More about Sunset Park/Greenwood Heights ▼
Foodies flock to Sunset Park for a taste of authentic Chinese and Latin American fare, feasting on both dim sum (in a Chinatown that rivals that of Manhattan) and delectable tacos. Sunset Park's namesake park offers stunning views of city, the harbor, and the Statue of Liberty. Along the industrial waterfront, developers are attracting new commercial tenants in Industry City, where there is an attached shopping mall. In the northernmost section of the neighborhood, fabled Green-Wood cemetery encompasses 478 acres of rolling hills and is the burial site of many notable figures, such as Boss Tweed, William Colgate, Henry Ward Beecher, and Peter Cooper, among others. The immediate area surrounding the cemetery, known as Greenwood Heights, serves as an extension of South Park Slope and has seen rapid changes over the past decade with the development of luxury condominiums along with a smattering of new restaurants and cafes.
